Facilitator's Role

Welcome and statement of meeting purpose;
With a brief story, reading, or poem, begin the meeting;
Invite participants to introduce themselves and respond to a question designed to help them get to know each other better as well as share their understanding of RCC such as:
When have you experienced healthcare grounded in RCC principles and practice?
When have you experienced "unhealthy" healthcare?
What is your interest in being here?
What do you want to take away from our time together?
Present a brief overview of RCC and the Network;
If over 12 people are present, break into small groups according to interest areas (community health, healthy professional/patient communications, etc.) to brainstorm desired RCC goals and the actions to achieve them;
Identify participants skilled in organizing, conceptualizing, networking
Self-select roles and responsibilities;
Summarize: list action steps and develop the agenda for the next meeting; and
Confirm where, when, and how often the group will meet.
