Develop a Regional Relationship-Centered Care Group
in Your Community

Suggested Meeting Practices

Certain practices support RCC regional groups and the work they hope to accomplish.

Meeting formats vary from place to place, and what works at one RCC gathering may not work for another community. Inviting people interested in promoting RCC is very different from inviting acquaintances of whom you have limited knowledge. Regardless of the group make-up, drawing on people's passion, commitment, and experience.

Circle Setting:

If possible, sit in a circle so that people can easily see each other. The circle is a symbol of wholeness and supports the equality of all members.

Dialogue:

Ensure confidentiality:

Confidentiality allows people to take risks in their conversation. At the first meeting in particular, talk about the importance of keeping what is shared within the group.

Listening:

Everyone must feel free to participate at their own comfort level. Some participants may prefer to listen and not speak. It is equally important that participants listen to themselves.
