Develop a Regional Relationship-Centered Care Group
in Your Community

Create a Planning Team

The first step in creating an RCC group in your community is to form a planning committee. Because RCC groups are not leader-driven, it will be helpful to form a group that is interested in sharing the leadership role.

Once you have identified members of the planning group, share RCC resources with them for review prior to the initial meeting. In addition, it may be useful to contact a RCC regional coordinator and ask how they established their regional group.

Each RCC group reflects its home community or region. What works in one community may not work in another. One lesson learned from groups around the country is: keep it simple. Start with what you know and move on from there.

If the planning team is clear about its goals and mission and has the energy and commitment to move forward, let the group decide how to proceed. If no clear goals can be defined, continue to dialogue about what your group will require to successfully sustain itself.
